Sweet and Sour Pork
This sweet, tangy pork is the perfect dish to go with a huge bowl of rice. Who needs Chinese take-out when you can just make this at home?
Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork shoulder
- ¾ cup sweet potato starch or corn starch
- ½ onion (coarsely diced)
- ½ green or red peppers (coarsely diced)
- ¼ pineapple (coarsely diced)
Marinade:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1½ tbsp corn starch
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Sauce:
- 1 cup ketchup
- ½ cup HP sauce
- 5½ tbsp sugar
- 1½ tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Cut up the pork into bite sized pieces.
- Mix pork with soy sauce, sugar, corn starch, egg, and sesame oil then let it marinate for a couple of hours.
- Coat the pork in sweet potato starch (corn starch should work as well) and airfry at 375°F for 13 min.
- Make the sauce by combining all the ingredients listed.sautee
- Once the pork is done cooking, sautée the onions and peppers on a pan until slightly softened, then add the pineapple, and all of the sauce. Let the sauce warm up then add all of the pork into the pan.
- Coat well in the sauce and remember to eat this with rice!
