How I Started Cooking
I’m just a dude who loves good food. My parents are from Hong Kong and I was born in Toronto, Canada. Growing up, I was exposed to a lot of different cuisines and foods which is where my love for food began. Fast forward 22 years, and COVID took away my ability to dine in at restaurants and enjoy good food. At this point, I decided to stop relying solely on restaurants for food and actually learn how to make all my favorite dishes at home.
The name “Kwokspots” is actually a compound word separated as Kwok-spots. The name originated with my sister and I taking pictures of food from restaurants and posting them on Instagram. “Kwok” is our last name and “spots” represents the restaurants we would eat at and post pictures about. If you scroll down on my Instagram feed, you can still see a bunch of food pictures from restaurants.
What To Expect
So I really just love to cook and post foods that I enjoy eating myself. In the future, a ‘Restaurants’ tab will be added to bring back the original purpose of Kwokspots which was to make restaurant reviews. On top of that, more new and delicious recipes will be posted every week. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
