I love oysters in every form that they are made, but I must say that deep fried oysters with a Hoisin sauce is definitely up there on my list. There’s nothing better than biting in something crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside.

Deep Fried Oysters
This recipe is super easy to follow to make the perfect fried oyster. It's saltiness is balanced out with a sweet Hoisin sauce.
Ingredients
Wet Batter:
- ¾ cup flour
- ¼ cup corn starch
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 300 mL cold beer
Instructions
- Rinse and pat dry your oysters ahead of time. (You just want them as dry as possible).
- Preheat oil to 375°F.
- Mix wet batter ingredients together (make sure to do this step after oil is preheated to keep the batter cold).
- Coat oysters in corn starch then dip in wet batter and fry in oil until golden brown (about 2 minutes)
- Let them cool on a plate and serve with hoisin sauce!
Notes
Tip: I like to keep one or two ice cubes in the batter to keep it consistently cold while I cook the oysters.
