Perfect Pickled Red Onions

These pickled red onions are one of the best condiments you will make and it is so simple.

Ingredients

  • 6 small red onions
  • 2 cups white wine vinegar
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp black peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano

Instructions

  • Into a sauce pan add your vinegar, water, sugar, salt, peppercorns, and oregano. Place on a stove over low heat until comes up to a simmer to dissolve the salt and sugar.

  • While that comes up to a simmer slice up all your onion into thin pieces. The size is just up to personal preference.
    6 small red onions
  • Stuff your sliced onions into a large jar. You might need two jars depending on the size.
  • Once our brining solution has come up to a simmer, pour it into our jars of red onion.
  • Let it cool down then seal tight and store in fridge for 12 hours and leave in the fridge up to 6 months.
