- 2 slices white bread
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 1½ tbsp milk
- 2 cups corn oil
- 1 slice butter
- 2 tbsp golden syrup or condensed milk
Bread
Slice two 1 inch thick pieces of bread.
2 slices white bread
Grab 2 slices of bread and spread the peanut butter on one slice, then sandwich them together. You can also use any other type of spread such as nutella and pistachio spread
2 tbsp peanut butter
Cut the crust off all sides of the bread.
Dip the bread into the egg wash mixture, making sure all sides of the sandwich are coated.
Immediately shallow fry in the oil at 325°F. Start with the edges for about 15 seconds per side and move on to the top and bottom until all sides are golden brown.
2 cups corn oil
Remove from the oil and pat it dry.
Top it off with a slice of butter and drizzle some of that golden syrup or condensed milk on top!
1 slice butter, 2 tbsp golden syrup or condensed milk
Golden Syrup: we got this from a Bulk Barn (bulk food retailer), you may be able to find this at a grocery store. This is not the same as maple syrup as golden syrup is much thicker and richer in taste. However, if you cannot find golden syrup, condensed milk works just as well!
Get creative and use Nutella or any other spreads besides peanut butter!
