Mix together all the marinade ingredients in a bowl.
¼ cup soy sauce, ¼ cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp hoisin sauce, 1½ tbsp mirin, 2 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp black pepper, 2 shots bourbon, ½ tsp Chinese five spice
Mix marinade with chicken and let it rest for at least 30 minutes and up to a day. Remove from fridge 30 minutes before cooking.
6 boneless chicken thighs
Blanche broccoli in boiling water for 1 minute and set aside.
1 handful broccoli
Heat up a pan over med-high heat with 1 tbsp of oil.
Cook chicken 3 minutes on each side and remove. Save remaining marinade from the bag for later.
Cut chicken into bite side pieces then add back into the pan along with the remaining marinade.
Bring it up to a boil and add broccoli to cook another 1-2 minutes or until you're ready to serve.
Top with green onions and sesame seeds.
